I’ve been admiring this car for a few years now. Always clean, and I like the idea of the X1 more than the other BMW X cars.

Most X1s were pretty low optioned, but not this one. It’s got the N55 turbo 6, too. Plenty of power for this car.

I was enamored with the idea of an X1 35i because it’s basically a 5-door 135xi on stilts. The problem with it is the back seat is just too damn small. I want my 5-door cars to have back seats that can comfortably fit a couple adults and the OG X1 is very short on legroom. The new one doesn’t have the same problem since it’s fwd based but it’s also not a 5-door 135xi on stilts.

Yeah, I forgot that the back seat was so small. Still it’s a cool little car with the six cylinder.

Hah. Yeah most of the ones I see probably are white, with the 4 cylinder.

But this car has been around my area for a few years- someone around town must own it.

Why it’s a tall wagon with a RWD based AWD system and a twin turbocharged 3.0 in-line 6. What’s there to hate?

Unfortunately they only offered the outdated six speed transmission with the 35i models. I’m not a big fan of autos, but the ZF8 is a gem. Plus you can get 34+ mpg on the highway.

The other big demerit for it is it has the old 6-speed Steptronic auto and not the 8-speed ZF. The Steptronic in stock form kinda sucks. But there’s this xHP transmission tuning app that apparently makes it much better.

Sounds pretty nice, Im just a grumpy old man (26 yrs old) who is angry at the clouds about wagons not being more popular. My dislike is unreasonable and unwarranted. :P

Yeah, I didn’t know it came with the Steptronic and not the ZF. The ZF is brilliant, Steptronic not so much.
